Hello! I'm Terrill Jenkins, and I discovered my passion for music as a child. Growing up in a large family with diverse musical tastes has significantly shaped my artistic style, drawing influences from gospel, jazz, soul, pop, country, and more.

Originally from Jacksonville, FL, I attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts (DASOTA) in their vocal music program, despite not being able to read sheet music or play an instrument. Thanks to Ms. Prescott, a supportive teacher at Stanton College Prep, who wrote a recommendation letter for me, I was able to bypass the audition process and secure a place at this prestigious school. This was a pivotal moment in my musical journey and development, but that’s a tale for another time. Through attending DASOTA and networking, I later was introduced to Bernard Bolton, who is still one of my closest lifelong friends and the one responsible for mentoring me in the studio.  I'm able to record my own music today due to the insight I gained from studying his process while recording in his studio.

While attending DASOTA, John Jackson, my chorus teacher, saw potential in me and helped me believe in me too.  He embedded me with the likes of Sam Shingles, James Campbell and Carlos Boglin to help keep me on track.  These guys could read and play sheet music but never made me feel less than.  I'm forever grateful to them.

After raising a daughter and surviving a failed marriage, I decided to move to Austin, TX.  Austin, for those that don't know, is a thriving city for singer-songwriters that embraces original music.  I joined the Austin Music Foundation (AMF) which helped me navigate the Austin music scene.

Performing in Austin solidified my dream of making a living through music. Then came Covid which disrupted the world.  I found myself with new songs but nowhere to record them. This is when the lightbulb went off and I was reminded of all I had learned from Bernard Bolton.  This was another pivotal moment in my musical journey carved out of necessity.  I invested in me and built my own home studio.  This marks the first time in my musical journey that I'd become a one-man operation.  It has been a three-year learning curve, but thank God, I made it.  After 8 1/2 years in Austin, I decided to move to Nashville, TN, to be closer to industry affiliates.

The focus in Nashville is to license my music for movies and commercials, while creating my own performance opportunities.  Since being in Nashville for the past 3 years, my sound has evolved.  I've released my first single "Facade" on January 1, 2025, off my Spring/Summer '25 EP release entitled "Life On Planet Earth".  This single represents my growth as a singer-songwriter and producer.

Thanks for visiting my site.  This is what faith in action looks like.  I encourage you to seek out your purpose in this life.  Don't let the negative opinions of others keep you from living your best life.

Love and Peace...
